"Beis" is the second letter in the Hebrew alphabet.

The Torah begins with the letter "Beis": "Breishis Bara Elokim" (In the beginning) G-d created the heavens and the earth."

The letter "Beis," is the first letter of the Hebrew word Bayit - meaning "home" - refering to world becoming a dwelling place for G-d.

The first letter of the word "Berachah" - blessing begins with the letter Beis.

The numerical equivalent of the letter Beis = 2 (two).
