|Rambam - Sefer HaMitzvos
As Divided for The Daily Learning Schedule
Mitzvot studied on day 249 of 229
Negative Mitzvot 246, 243
Negative Mitzvah 246: It is forbidden to steal land
Deuteronomy 19:14 "You shall not remove your neighbor's boundary marker"
We are not allowed to claim ownership of someone else's property.
Even if we feel that our claim is just, we may not take possession of the land by force. We must bring the matter to court and prove our claim to be valid.
Negative Mitzvah 243: It is forbidden to kidnap another person
Exodus 20:13 "Do not steal"
This Negative Mitzvah forbids us to kidnap a Jewish person.
Giving affects not only the one you give to, but also you, the giver. Therefore, it's not only important how much you give, but how often. Each act of giving uplifts and purifies you a little more. Keep a small charity box attached to the wall in a conspicuous place, and place a few coins in it every day. Keep one in your home and one in your office.
